The switch is normally open. Its contacts close when tension is applied to the spring by the brake linkage, switching on the stop lamps. It comes with a splash-proof rubber cap and a 6mm diameter brake linkage clamp.

Suits older vehicles, trailers and machinery with mechanical brake linkages. Adjust so the lamps come on as soon as the brake is applied, and test before driving.
