Leaf Springs Kits - Single Axle

A Trojan single-axle kit typically includes a matched pair of leaf springs plus the fittings to mount them — hangers, shackle bolts, slippers, and galvanised U-bolts and plates. That covers most of what you need to replace a single axle's suspension in one go. It's still worth checking your axle and wheel bearings while everything's apart. If you only need the springs on their own, we stock those separately too.

A single-axle kit suits trailers with one axle. If you've got a tandem (two-axle) or tri-axle trailer, you'll need a kit or springs for each axle — talk to us and we'll sort the right combination. Also check whether your trailer uses slipper or double-eye springs, as the kits differ; match whatever it's set up for now.

Match the kit to your trailer's axle rating and fully loaded weight, with a bit of margin — Trojan kits are rated by capacity per pair. Don't under-rate: the springs need to comfortably carry the trailer plus its heaviest load. If you know your trailer's rating or the weight it carries we'll match it; if not, bring the old spring in and we'll go from there.

For most single-axle trailers it's a manageable DIY job. Support the trailer securely on stands with the load off the springs, undo the old U-bolts and shackles, fit the new springs and bushes, and tighten everything properly — the kit gives you fresh fittings so you're not reusing worn hardware. Take care supporting the trailer safely and make sure the U-bolts are done up tight. Any trailer or towbar shop can fit them if you'd rather, and we can supply the whole kit either way.
