The plug connects the vehicle wiring to the alternator's sense and warning-light terminals. Corroded, melted or loose plugs are a common cause of charging faults and a warning light that stays on or won't come on.

Crimp and solder the new terminals to good clean wire, then insulate each joint. Disconnect the battery before working on alternator wiring.
