Acid core solder contains an active (corrosive) flux that aggressively removes oxides for strong, reliable joints on copper and brass. This makes it ideal for plumbing and metalwork, but the acid residue is corrosive and must be cleaned off after soldering. It must not be used on electronics or electrical connections — use resin core solder (DLM RC60 range) for those applications.
