The D2R is the reflector-housing version of the D2S. Its coating reduces light leakage that would cause glare in a reflector housing (unlike a projector, which uses a lens to control the beam). Do not substitute D2S in a D2R application as this will cause glare for oncoming traffic. Replace both headlight bulbs as a pair.
